Keys to success in this role:Developing and maintaining relationships and building trust will be the key to success in this role.Learning the Products we sell and the many ways we can provide solutions for our customers and help achieve their business goals. Knowing our industry - our consultants are expected to integrate into local trade organizations and professional associations while striving to become part of the fabric of the industry within your territory.Understanding the Business - you will be expected to work with Resource Center Managers within your territory to ensure our RC Centers are providing the highest level of service to our customers and meeting all of their needs.Building and Maintaining meaningful relationships - spending quality time with our customers. At Tropic Supply, we do not measure the performance of our Consultants by the number of "visits" or appointments they set. We measure success by the quality of the interactions and relationships built with our customers.A summary of specific job responsibilities is outlined below:SALES:Grow revenue in accordance with sales plan for assigned territory with new and existing accounts (30-50 Accounts).Identify objectives, strategies and action plans to improve short- and long-term sales and earnings.Effectively seek, interpret and utilize customer feedback and market information to meet sales objectives.Understand and execute strategic marketing programs within assigned territory to promote sales within market.Manage and communicate complete information for all quotation, pricing and timing requirements and partner with sales support staff and Resource Centers to ensure to ensure customer expectations are met/exceeded.Communicate, manage and implement all marketing programs, including rebates, co-ops, reward programs, contractor spiffs, etc. to new and existing customers and train resource center team members in conjunction with RC manager.BUILDING/MAINTAINING RELATIONSHIPS: Identify key customers and build profitable relationships by understanding and meeting customer's needs and expectations.Act as a business partner by providing value-added services such as business consulting, sales training, product support, finance training, marketing training, etc., in conjunction with management team.Touch top customers each day/week as needed.Spend the appropriate amount of time each week developing new business.Visit appropriate amount of existing customers each day/week, getting to know all people, i.e., installation manager, account manager, sales people, warranty dept., purchasing, etc., developing relationships with everyone.Visit job-sites to assist customers as needed to coordinate technical support or assist customers to determine needs.Spend appropriate amount of time in branch locations/and or as needed on weekly basis to maintain relationships with customers and resource center teams.Maintain business relationships with all of the manufacturers represented by the company to educate and promote products.TRAINING:Maintain personal sales and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks. Deliver value driven consultative presentations utilizing personal knowledge, tropic management and manufacture reps.Champion all Tropic Training initiatives in Territory.Deliver value-added product training to HVAC contractors.Attend all Resource Center Trainings.Participate in all relevant Industry trainings.Attend all vendor meetings and trainings.Set aside for time for educating yourself through all resources.INVENTORY:Maintain proper sales volume in Territory, including product mix and selling price, by keeping current with customer needs, competitors and market and industry trends and communicating/partnering with appropriate leadership team members.Proactively and effectively manage product availability, appropriate product mix, etc., via consistent contact with Purchasing Team.COMMUNICATION:Communicate obstacles, product challenges, technical issues, etc., and/or opportunities for growth in the market to the Director of Sales, offering effective solutions to address and ensuring timely resolution thereof.Review weekly sales numbers and address relevant increases/decreases.Provide weekly Strategic Sales Summaries as required by management and be prepared to discuss at a scheduled time each weeks with the Sales and Marketing departments.Present SWAT recap analysis and red/yellow/green analysis on customers within Territory to Director of Sales and other designated Leadership Team members on a Quarterly basis. Present annual year-end SWAT recap and sales plan for upcoming year to Director of Sales and other designated Leadership Team members. CUSTOMER SERVICE:Provide high level of customer service to both internal and external customers.Partner with RC Managers to ensure Resource Centers within Territory are effectively & efficiently assisting customers via the telephone & in person as needed & in accordance with customer service standards.CORE VALUES:All HVAC Consultants are expected and required to demonstrate behavior and actions consistent with the Company's core values at all times, including but not limited to:Consistently providing resourceful and reliable solutions.Managing relationships, not transactions.Is accountable for their actions.Maintaining a positive attitude.Operating at all times with integrity.Treating people (internal and external customers) with respect and humility.
