JOB TITLE: Power Engineer, Quality - Associate, I, II, Sr. Location: North Fort Myers, FLWork hours: 8am 5pm, M-F with occasional call out LCEC provides reliable, cost-competitive electricity to more than 224,000 customers throughout a five county service territory located in Southwest Florida. We employ approximately 400 skilled employees and are one of more than 750 electric distribution cooperatives located throughout the United States. Position Summary: Investigate inquiries regarding power quality or voltage problems. Conduct analysis of locations experiencing abnormal frequency of outages and/or service interruptions. Provide support to Customer Service Representatives and Account Executives with regards to power quality issues or voltage problems from customers.Position Responsibilities:Develop and maintain reports, and analyze data relevant to customer related issues regarding power quality or voltage concerns.Review and analyze voltage recordings, and perform post-fault event analysis. Based on analysis, make recommendations for equipment upgrades or change-outs in a cost-effective manner.Perform tasks required to document and track equipment upgrades and/or change-outs in the work order management and customer information systems.Direct correspondence with customers to gain better understanding of power quality issues and improve customer satisfaction.Identify and solve power quality related issues for individual residential customers, and work with Account Executives to mitigate power issues for Commercial / Industrial customers, with a focus on customer satisfaction.Assist in maintaining of data/indices associated with power quality such as Momentary Average Interruption Frequency Index (MAIFI) , and Customers Exceeding Multiple Interruptions (CEMI5).Serve as the Subject Matter Expert with regards power quality related problems.Prepare and maintain power quality specifications and standards in compliance with industry guidelines and good engineering practices.Evaluate application of new power quality monitoring equipment.Provide technical support to construction crews with regards to power quality issues.Participate on project teams for large scope projects.Maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels within LCEC. Ensure smooth operations, productive communications, and effective understanding during all interpersonal contacts. Provide current and accurate information to all requesters, courteously and in a timely manner. Perform other duties as assigned. Required and Desired Qualifications (by grade level)Required Qualifications, Associate Engineer:BS in Electrical Engineering (or AA in EET with 2 years experience).Florida drivers license or ability to obtain one upon employment.Desired Qualifications, Associate Engineer:BS in Electrical Engineering.3 years engineering experience.2 years experience in a power engineering profession.Required Qualifications, Engineer I:BS in Electrical Engineering.3 years engineering experience.2 years experience in a power engineering profession.1 year of experience in an E&O engineering role.Florida drivers license or ability to obtain one upon employment.Desired Qualifications, Engineer I:Masters degree in Electrical Engineering.Licensed professional engineer.Required Qualifications, Engineer II:BS in Electrical Engineering.7 years engineering experience.5 years experience in a power engineering profession.3 years experience in E&O engineering roles multiple roles and rotations (i.e. reliability, protection).Florida drivers license or ability to obtain one upon employment.Desired Qualifications, Engineer II:Masters degree in Electrical Engineering.Licensed professional engineer. Required Qualifications, Senior Engineer:BS in Electrical Engineering.15 years engineering experience.10 years experience in a power engineering profession.7 years experience in E&O engineering roles experience in at least (2) areas and qualified to fill in multiple functions.Florida drivers license or ability to obtain one upon employment.Desired Qualifications, Senior Engineer:Masters degree in Electrical Engineering.Licensed professional engineer.Recognition in the profession as a specialist in the field (teaching, writing).Experience in multiple areas of electrical engineering.Physical Demands and Work Environment: The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
