Foreman leads the crew to complete daily tasks related to the
construction and maintenance of underground and overhead power
lines, with a focus on the installation and removal of both wood
and concrete power poles. Oversees both temporary and permanent
restoration. Reads blueprints of projects and is responsible for
production. This position oversees the Pole Team and
coordinates/works with other personnel from other departments.
Responsibilities: 1. Obtains all the necessary materials for the
job & ensures all permits & licenses are in place. 2. Oversees and
accomplishes all work related to the project in a safe and
efficient manner. 3. Coordinates and supervises crew members daily
tasks related to placing and/or removing poles. 4. Facilitate daily
toolbox talks and weekly safety inspections to keep the crew safe.
5. Cuts poles as required by customer 6. Completes all paperwork in
a timely manner. 7. Operates equipment, as needed, to assist crews
in the completion of work. 8. Trains new hires/trainees to learn
the trade and prepares Operators to become future Foreman. 9.
Inspects and is responsible for job quality, ensuring each location
is left better than they found it. 10. Tracks employee hours and
production, submitting them to the supervisor on time. 11. Drives
and/or hauls equipment to/from job sites. 12. Ensures preventive
vehicle maintenance is completed, vehicles are kept clean
inside/out, and reports all deficiencies. 13. Responsible for both
customer and residents/occupants satisfaction. Reports all
complaints and helps to immediately rectify and issues. 14. Ensures
the job is done on time, cleaned up and performs all required
restoration at the end of job. 15. Climbs ladders and works from
heights. 16. Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
Qualifications :Minimum Qualifications: 1. A High School Degree, or
equivalency. 2. 3 years of experience in the field. 3. CDL Class A
license. 4. Ability to some speak English. 5. Understanding basic
electrical principles, including knowledge of electricity and how
to safely work around it. 6. Knowledge of customers specifications.
Able to read and interpret blue prints and explain to others. 7.
Proficiency in all phases of pole installation and removal. 8.
Assume full responsibility for completed work with an emphasis on
safety, quality and timeliness. 9. Compliance with proper safety
standards, procedures and work practices according to OSHA, MasTec
or the customer, based on the higher standard. 10. OSHA 10 hour
course and CPR Certification is required (provided by MasTec if
needed) 11. Ability to coordinate crew-pass out daily tasks for
each employee. 12. Ability to talk with customers and inspectors
and have a sense of customer service. 13. Experience operating
heavy equipment and general construction. Ability to operate a
digger/derrick 14. Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more or 20
inches or less, with the ability to judge distance and space
relationships. 15. Precise hand-eye coordination. 16. Ability to
identify and distinguish colors. 17. Ability to work outdoors, even
in extreme weather conditions. Preferred Qualifications: 1. 10 or
more years of experience, including significant experience
supervising and training skilled labor. 2. OSHA 10 Certification.
3. Excavator training.Physical Demands and Work Environment This
job operates in a field environment. This role routinely requires
extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling,
pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing,
and twisting. Also, this role works in inclement weather
conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow,
and wind.The physical demands described here are representative of
those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the
essential functions of the job. This position is physically active,
with lifting required. Must be able to bend and lift and carry up
