This is a labor-intensive entry-level position with the potential for advancement. Position Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the upkeep, maintenance, and operation of the plant and its component equipment
• Responsible for execution of cleaning assignments, grounds keeping, and assisting plant operations and maintenance as requested
• Full participation in our extensive safety program is required, including diligent use of the Safety Observation System in Process Map.
• Additional duties as assigned to ensure safe and efficient facility operationsPosition Requirements & Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred
  • Covanta offers GED Works - a fully funded program for employees to achieve their GED.
  • Must have the ability to work a rotating shift schedulePhysical Demands of the Role:
    • Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb
    • Ability to lift/carry 50lbs
    • Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces
    • Qualify to wear a full-face respirator
